[Discuss-gnuradio] QAM Mod / Demod Blocks Deprecated?

Hi,

The QAM Mod / Demod blocks are marked as deprecated. Is there a way to find more information on why they are obsolete? Given that they are deprecated, I guess there is a better alternative in GNU Radio to do the job performed by these blocks, but it is not immediately obvious to me.
