Yeah the compiler used in OSX 10.12 should not be GCC; should be Clang of some sort. Let me boot into 10.12 on one my buildbots & see what happens. - MLD

As pointed out by Johannes it could be that I really have an ancient version of gcc that doesnt have these things. I think I will have to start from scratch. Delete everything, update things and try again.

Johannes, yeah I dont know what to make of `Apple LLVM`. :) It could be that my Xcode messed up things. 

Anyway, I will keep trying.

1) Can you try building the "volk-devel" port and see if it works?

This is gcc version I have installed. 

$ gcc --version

Does anybody have any ideas by any chance that I could try?

I tried $sudo port clean volk & sudo port install volk but no luck. I found some threads from macports (e.g.https://trac.macports.org/ticket/48009) but they didnt help me.
