I'm sorry to inform you on such short notice, but we plan to remove
gr-comedi
from GNU Radio 3.8.
If you're not OK with that, please do raise concerns in the next 44
hours, either here on the mailing list or by contacting me directly if
confidentiality requires it. Sometime after that, a Release Candidate
of GNU Radio 3.8 will be published.
Background:
gr-comedi is a GNU Radio component that … I don't know.
It hasn't seen any specific code contributions since 2012/13, meaning
it wasn't touched during the whole GNU Radio 3.7 life time. We have
effectively no test coverage of it, and it being used and usable is but
a rumor to everyone I've asked so far.
Hence, I'm planning to *not* carry it over to GNU Radio 3.8, since it's
honestly unmaintained, and probably will not be used by anyone under GR
3.8.
Again, if I'm wrong about this, please DO NOT HESITATE to contact me.
Also, my apologies for thinking of this at this very late point in
time; I thought I've addressed that after GRCon'18.
Best regards,
Marcus Müller
