[Discuss-gnuradio] Clarification needed with examples in Message PMT and Random PDU Genrator

Hello Everyone ,
I am new to the concept of message passing and currently going through the examples from
/src/gnuradio/digital/packet  . The examples are tx_stage00.grc , tx_stage01.grc etc from the folder (Test2.grc attached if needed)
Here is my question from the snapshot

The Message strobe has message : pmt.PMT_T with interval of 500 ms  connected to the Random PDU generator of 15 bytes (I kept both min and max as 15 bytes just to check)

So, The expected result would be random 15 bytes every 500 milliseconds. I quite understand that and can see that on message debug.
But what's the role of PMT message (in this case pmt.PMT_T) here . I changed it to pmt.PMT_F and different values like pmt.from_double(12.23) , but I didn't quite understand the role of this value in this context.
Can anyone of you please let me know about it?

Thanks for your time and patience.

Regards
Ash
