[Discuss-gnuradio] Si4721 an option maybe?

Hi so I've been looking at the Silicon Labs Si4721 transceiver chip and am currently wondering if it could be pressed into limited SDR service with it's I2S interface.  the data sheet indicates a number of interesting features and options.
