[Discuss-gnuradio] Could not connect to ControlPort

Hi , 

after many tries i thinks i was able to install Apache thrift.  now my problem is when i run the command 

 gr-perf-monitorx  xxx.xxx.x.xxx  9090 

got the folllowing error:

Could not connect to ControlPort endpoint at xxx.xxx.x.xxx:9090.

Exception socket.error: (32, 'Broken pipe') in <bound method ThriftRadioClient.__del__ of <gnuradio.ctrlport.RPCConnectionThrift.ThriftRadioClient instance at 0x7f1cf4f1bc68>> ignored

so, do i need to run a server? if  i do where can i find it ? what command should I use? Or am i missing some steps?
